White Pine Adventure

This past weekend I had the opportunity to go backpacking into White Pine Lake with my dad, brother-in-law, and uncle. I must be in better shape than the last time I did this. It wasn't as hard as I remember. We had a good time. We were trying to break tradition and eat our tin-foil-dinners while it was still light out, but some traditions can't be broken no matter how hard you try. Here is our camp. Isn't that a wonderful fire. I built it so of course it is. We haven't set up camp at this point. You can see our packs laying up against the log.

Look at all that wood. My dad was able to find the mother-load, so we gathered enough for our fire and had a lot left over for the next campers.
Here is a view of the lake from atop the cliffs that line the lake. We hiked up there Saturday morning and ate our lunch up there. Beautiful view!
As we were hiking out we saw a moose. She was just out in the meadow doing her thing and she wouldn't take her eyes off of us untill we left. It was a fun thing to see as we were leaving.

Sound like you had fun, camping is just not my idea of fun.
